Pete Berthelsen will be presenting and helping to run a Precision Ag Conservation workshop.  This training will provide background about the importance of pollinators to agriculture and how considering conservation needs on the landscape can help the bottom line in farming and ranching operations.  Learn more about this unique workshop at: www.cccned.edu/HastAg

Pete Berthelsen will be providing a training workshop for the Tallgrass Prairie Center on the key techniques, strategies and considerations to high quality habitat.  If you ever worked on establishing a habitat projects and were less than thrilled with the outcomes, this workshop is for you!  This workshop is open to the public.

Pete Berthelsen is a member of the Coalitions steering committee and the Bee Integrated executive team and will be attending the meetings representing The Bee & Butterfly Habitat Fund.

Pete Berthelsen will be hosting a "Sustainability Sumer Camp" for youth through a program with the Central Community College, Grand Island, NE. This farm is used as an 'outdoor laboratory' to demonstrate how high quality habitat projects function within agriculture.  Some of the activities will include looking at the results and impacts of: Prescribed fire and managed grazing Wildflower...

Pete  Berthelsen will attend the Monarch Collaborative Annual Meeting as a Steering Committee member of the collaborative.  The meeting will discuss recommendations for the upcoming Farm Bill and USDA conservation programs, review the Mid-America Conservation Strategy for monarchs and discuss ways to deliver more habitat results that benefit monarch butterflies.

National webinar conducted with Fresh Energy will discuss the many collaborations and opportunities to combine high quality pollinator habitat with new solar power array fields. The growing interest in solar power across the country offers some unique opportunities to get pollinator projects into new efforts with communities, energy companies and local projects.

Conservation Blueprint will provide a training at Monarch Wings Across the Eastern Broadleaf Forest on the safe and effective use of Prescribed Fire as a management tool for pollinator and other wildlife habitat.  This training will be available to participate with as a webinar as well.

Pete Berthelsen will be participating in the discussions and planning for critical habitat needs for these endangered species.  The meetings will involve discussions about upcoming joint habitat efforts and then include field tours.  

Pete Berthelsen will provide a presentation at the Pollinators in Agroecology Field Day about how pollinator habitat can work with agriculture to deliver critical habitat needs for pollinators as well as address resource needs on the farm and ranch.
